Another GSC Finalist Raises New Round - $16m - Bringing Total of GSC Alumni to over $35 million

Another alumni of the GSC Competition just announced a new funding round. UK based Secerno Ltd (Finalist GSC 2006), which develops database security software, closed a $16 million funding round led by London's Amadeus Capital.
We are proud about the achievements of our top contenders from the past two years, who went on to subsequently raise more than $35 million Dollar in new capital thus far.
Amadeus Capital partner, Richard Anton, comments in the press release:
"Secerno is bringing ground breaking technology to market just as issues of customer privacy, compliance and litigation move to the top of the agenda for CIOs."

what great news for an it-security company in London to raise such an amount, given the current economic climate. does anyone know more about secerno and what their product does? I am looking for a new database SW for a banking client of mine...
