Disruptive Indoor Tracking Solution Wins Global Security Challenge 2008

TRX Systems was awarded a $500,000 grant sponsored by TSWG, of the U.S. Government for winning the 3rd annual Global Security Challenge (GSC) today. Six security startups, who were chosen out of hundreds of entrants, pitched their inventions at an event hosted by London Business School. A Judging Committee comprised of leaders from government, venture capital and industry selected this year’s most promising security startup in the world. TRX Systems, a spin off from the University of Maryland in the USA is a leading innovator in the development of personnel tracking solutions.

Homergent wins "Best Security Idea" Award at the GSC Final

Homergent Corporation was voted the winner of the best security idea award in the 2008 Global Security Challenge.  The award brings with it a $10,000 grant sponsored by Accenture and mentorship with Siemens Venture Capital. Homergent is based in Nevada, USA and is commercialising a breakthrough technology, product line, and business model for delivering high-quality shelters to mass disaster victims, refugees, and the poor in a sustainable manner.

Top Six Security Startups to Battle for $500K Award from Global Security Challenge at London Business School

The directors of the GSC, Simon Schneider and Janeen Chupa, commented: “The entrepreneurial companies that will present at the GSC Final are all winners as they were selected from hundreds of applicants and already went through three stages of screening.  The GSC has become an effective launching pad for security start-ups, as the top contenders of the last two years went on to raise over $39 million in capital.”

Asia's Top Security Startups Advance to Grand Final of $500K Competition

A real-time decision making software and an advanced detector of earthquakes have won the Asian Semi-Final of the Global Security Challenge 2008.  Five startups, who were chosen out of hundreds that entered this international competition, pitched their inventions at an event hosted by the National University of Singapore.

GSC has Chosen the Five Most Promising Security Startups in the World

The five finalists have developed technologies that can identify people through biometric analysis of how they type, scan the eye to assess a person's health, protect against multiple explosions, detect and identify people at night without illumination and recognise faces despite changing light and facial expressions.
