Director of Conferences & Competitions


About the Role:
Duties entail the organization of the annual GSC competitions, the regional Semi-Finals and Grand Final events of the GSC.  Applicant must be able to manage a small team, work with partners, sponsors, speakers and PR firms in order to execute a smooth execution of these events and competitions.  

Specifically, the duties include the following:
•    managing a small team
•    raising sponsorship
•    designing and executing marketing plan
•    working with sponsors and partners
•    managing PR activities
•    ensuring the list of tasks associated with the event is being managed in a timely fashion
•    organizing the GSC startup competitions

Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate:
•    organisational skills
•    copy-writing press materials experience
•    social skills
•    willingness to build something together
•    enthusiasm about organizing events
•    security knowledge prefered


Candidates are required to have at a minimum:
•    Business degree or marketing degree
•    3 years of work experience in a sales, marketing or in organizing large scale events

Sales & Marketing Executive

About the Role:
Responsible for the execution of our worldwide competitions and events held throughout the year.  Applicants must be able to work with sponsors, academics, start-ups and investors to ensure that these competitions and events are administered smoothly and timely.


Specifically, the duties include the following:
-    executing business development tasks
-    working with industry sponsors and government partners
-    finding competition entrants
-    organizing the judging process and committees
-    executing the detailed organisation of the GSC events around the world
-    ensuring the list of tasks associated with the event is being managed in a timely fashion


Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate:
-       strong organisational skills
-       ability to understand entrepreneurs and how to find and relate to them
-       ability to easily learn about the security market and technologies
-       effective communication styles
-       enthusiasm about working with start-ups, events and competitions
-       ability to work to deadlines
-       able to work on own initiative with a can-do attitude
-       a team player

Candidates are required to have:
-       Science/technical or business degree from a leading university
-       Minimum 2 years of work experience in a sales or similar, environment
