Global Security Challenge Competition
The GSC Security Summit 2009 saw the culmination of the six regional finals held around the world in September and October. The winners from each of the six regional events made their final pitches in the battle to win the title of 'Best Security SME' and 'Most Promising Security Start-up' 2009. Each finalist also experienced a ‘Dragon’s Den’ style closed-door Q&A with the expert Judging Committees. The overall winner, from each category, was announced in the afternoon's awarding ceremony. The winner's of the Cyber Security Challenge was also awarded at the event. Top contenders from previous Global Security Challenge competitions have subsequently raised over $57 million in new capital. Find more information regarding previous winners of the GSC here.
GSC Technology LoungePrevious contenders of GSC competitions, and the London finalists, joined other security and defense start-ups and researchers, to showcase their technologies.
Keynote SpeechThe GSC was delighted to welcome Robert Hannigan, Security Adviser to the Prime Minister and Head of Security Intelligence and Resilience for the UK Government, to the GSC Security Summit to provide the morning keynote speech.
Discussion ForumsDelegates participated in discussion forums on the most imminent defense and security issues affecting the world today, including: Biometrics; Crowded Places; Cyber Security; and Energy Storage.
